Meet & Greet at Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi + Transfer to Hotel. Check-in and Freshen up (Standard check-in 14:00 hrs). Afternoon: Explore the atmospheric Hanoi Old Quarter — a labyrinth of 36 ancient streets, each traditionally named after the craft or trade it once specialised in, now buzzing with street food vendors, silk shops, temples, and vibrant local life. Evening: Visit the solemn and stately Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex — the monumental resting place of Vietnam’s beloved founding father, set within a grand tree-lined square flanked by the Presidential Palace and One Pillar Pagoda. Enjoy a welcome dinner featuring authentic Hanoi specialities including Pho Bo (beef noodle soup) and Bun Cha (grilled pork with noodles). Overnight at hotel.
After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day excursion to Ninh Binh province (approx. 2 hours from Hanoi). Begin at Hoa Lu — the ancient capital of Vietnam, home to centuries-old royal temples dedicated to Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang and Emperor Le Dai Hanh, set dramatically amid towering limestone karst mountains. Proceed to Tam Coc (Vietnam’s “Halong Bay on land”) for a scenic sampan rowing boat ride along the Ngo Dong River, gliding through three natural limestone cave tunnels and past emerald rice paddies and dramatic cliff faces. Afternoon: Climb the 500 steps to the summit of Mua Cave Hill — rewarded at the top with one of Vietnam’s most breathtaking panoramic views over the entire Tam Coc valley, winding river, and karst landscape stretching to the horizon. Return to Hanoi by evening. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast, begin the morning with a peaceful stroll around the legendary Hoan Kiem Lake (Lake of the Restored Sword) — the spiritual and geographical heart of Hanoi, named after the mythical golden turtle said to have reclaimed Emperor Le Loi’s magical sword. Visit the iconic red-painted Huc Bridge leading to Ngoc Son Temple (Jade Mountain Temple) — a beautifully preserved shrine set on a small island in the middle of the lake, surrounded by weeping willows and lotus blossoms. Explore the nearby St. Joseph’s Cathedral and the timeless streets of the French Quarter. Evening: Enjoy a captivating traditional Vietnamese Water Puppet Show at the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre — a unique 1,000-year-old art form originating from the Red River Delta, bringing Vietnamese folklore, legends, and rural life to vivid life through intricately crafted wooden puppets performing on water. Farewell dinner in Hanoi. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast, check-out and transfer to Noi Bai Airport for your morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City (approx. 2 hours). On arrival, transfer to hotel and check-in. Afternoon: Head northwest of the city to the extraordinary Cu Chi Tunnels — a legendary 250 km network of underground tunnels used by Viet Cong guerrilla fighters during the Vietnam War as hiding spots, supply routes, field hospitals, and living quarters. Descend into the narrow tunnels, examine ingeniously camouflaged trapdoors, booby trap displays, and wartime artefacts, gaining a profound and moving insight into the resilience and resourcefulness of the Vietnamese people during one of history’s most intense conflicts. Return to Ho Chi Minh City by evening. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast, begin with a visit to the historic Reunification Palace (formerly Independence Palace) — the iconic landmark where the Vietnam War officially ended on 30th April 1975, when North Vietnamese tanks broke through its gates. Explore the grand halls, war-era command rooms, underground bunkers, and communication centres preserved exactly as they were on that historic day. Proceed to the deeply moving War Remnants Museum — one of Vietnam’s most visited museums, housing a comprehensive and thought-provoking collection of photographs, military equipment, weaponry, and personal accounts documenting the devastating human impact of the Vietnam War from the Vietnamese perspective. Afternoon: Explore the vibrant Ben Thanh Market for souvenirs, local handicrafts, street food, and Vietnamese coffee. Enjoy a memorable farewell dinner at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the glittering Ho Chi Minh City skyline. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast, check-out from the hotel (Standard check-out 12:00 hrs). Transfer to Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City in time for your onward international flight.
